To achieve even better HDR, local dimming is needed. Its good enough at this price point though. Its 8bit+FRC which is a technique to achieve 10-bit like colors. I do video editing in adobe premiere and use other adobe products so work space is hugely ugpraded too!Ĭons: Not a true 10-bit monitor. PS4 HDR looks amazing as well! 450nits of peak brightness is plenty for me. Strangely HDR YouTube content plays better in Microsoft Edge browser. HDR 4k Netflix and Youtube content look amazing. Pros: Upgraded from an old LG 1080p monitor. The monitor does not require much calibration right out of the box too! Overall, no complains at all and i am very satisfied with this product. For console gaming this monitor would be perfect! If you are looking for a proper HDR monitor, i would suggest looking for a HDR television instead. I understand that the whole HDR debacle has its fair share of negative comments but i tried running some HDR content on this monitor and i guess it looks slightly better as compared to when you turn the HDR off. I did fire up fifa 18 on it to try it out and it looks amazing though! The price for this monitor with its specs is pretty reasonable i must say. I use this new monitor more for watching movies/work over gaming as my TN panel is 144hz so i have yet to game much on it.
